As new businesses move to a community, they typically join the local Chamber of Commerce. They benefit by attending networking events, obtaining business leads and making their company name known within the area.
The Community Roundtable recognized a similar need for local charities. We have been performing the role as Chamber of Charities of Greater Brandon for many years. Membership is a nominal fee of only $20 per year. For membership information, click here. Monthly meetings are held for member charities to share their upcoming events and flyers. Their events are self-posted to the Community Roundtable Events Calendar and boosted to 25,000+ LOCAL Brandon Facebook users. This advertising helps the charity get the word out about their events. If events qualify students for Community Service Hours, they are marked accordingly. Residents search our Community Calendar for LOCAL volunteering opportunities.
To increase recognition, our members participate in the Community Service Forum. This event is a meet-and-greet, where students seeking community service hours for scholarship requirements, introduce themselves to area non-profits needing volunteers. A win-win for all! The September 2019 event at Brandon High School was a big success with more than 2 dozen charities being interviewed by over 350 students.
